IT strategy

An IT strategy is an expression of the ambitions a company has on th eusage of information technology to support tomorrows competitive advantage.

When an IT strategy has value it summarises the focal point of

  • Business objectives
  • User expectations
  • Financial limitations
  • Human ressources
  • Technological barriers

and gives a forward plan of development of the ressources and the overcoming of the barriers.

The person developing an IT strategy must be equally strong in IT, business and HR. Otherwise the plan will be unbalanced.
